While teachers are having a break and hopefully getting up past 5 a.m., I know that kids are having a super busy summer, wherever they are. Surely, most of my students get up early and fill their days with free play, sports, games and reading, which makes this week perfect for the review of awesome summer reads. I can tell from my sales that there is a lot of novel reading going on, so here we go!!!

1st – 5th

  1. Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer by Megan McDonald (book and a movie) – for all little ones who love adventure wherever it may be
  2. Superfudge – Judy Bloome – super funny and impossible put down
  3. Double Fudge. – Judy Bloome – super funny and impossible put down
  4. Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great – Judy Bloome – another Bloome super read
  5. Turtle in Paradise – by Jennifer L. Holm – Turtle is in “Paradise”, or is she? 🙂 For all of us who love Florida Keys!
  1. The Fourteenth Goldfish – Jennifer L. Holm – captivating

7. The Egypt Game – Zilpha Keatley Snyder and Alton Raible – the game, the suspense and a some Egypt history

8. The Way To Stay in Destiny – Augusta Scattergood – Destiny always makes me think of Destin. Emerald coast, beautiful beaches, who would not want to stay in Destin?

9. The Third Mushroom – Jennifer L. Holm – another super loved novel by all kids.

10. Full of Beans Novel Guide Elementary Economics – Perfect for teaching financial literacy an having a lot of laughs. Florida Keys part II.

3rd – 6th

  1. Manatee Summer by Evan Griffith – an absolute hit for all who love marine life and nature.
  2. The Elephant’s Girl NO Prep Novel Guide | Google Classroom – new addition, amazing read, will learn a lot about elephants.
