The Pigeon is back and he is as funny as ever. This time, the pigeon doesn’t believe that the duckling got a cookie by just asking for it. This is another hilarious book by Mo Willems. Kids laugh to this book from Kindergarten all the way to 5th grade. It’s animated and every child can relate to the emotions that pigeon experiences. Like asking for stuff, that is completely unrealistic, and then being bummed that he didn’t get it. Like asking to drive the bus. It doesn’t have to be a big bus.
The best thing about the pigeon is that it describes emotions so well. You will see during reading that children really relate to the pigeon much more than to the duck.
Also, the text is full of high frequency words and intonations are great for building fluency. In a couple of days, they will recite this book by heart.
